Hi there, nice blog. I love this post, too. However, I DO have confirmation of the movie… as of Blizzcon 08… You can read the several different sources here. I for one would love to see a film adaptation of the game… It does say in the post though that the 2009 release date is prolly out, but that the film should be made eventually.

@Rogosh – x fingers for hoping it comes – It could be Epic! – It could get wow addicts away from their pc!
@kyrilean – When Farscape was on our network Stations it was late at night after bedtime, I brought the DVD’s because I liked the two actors that were in Stargates final season, and when I discovered they were both in Farscape ( and claudia black is an aussie) I had to watch it! – Just starting season 3.
@Euripedes – Rosie – that outfit is actually from a movie she was in ( no photoshopping ) called Exit to Eden
@Devv – Hi! nice trolls are ok Ok. Fine. I will replace Leia with Natalie Portman. I think she would make a nice human mage too -

OK, I’ll be a troll no more. I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time and I’ve always enjoyed it. My only beef with Carrie Fisher is that she’s like 106 years old now. If we could cast her in 1983, I’d be all for it. But you’re going to have a hard time getting me on board now when she’ll be spending half of her on-set time on Geritol breaks. =)

Depends on how you look at “confirmed”.. at Blizzcon ’07 there was a panel with a bunch of movie types, the director, producer and some others, who talked about how the movie concept was coming along and the Blizzard folks assured us the movie was “in the works” and they were committed to not only bringing this movie to the big screen but also to ensuring the movie was as kick ass as possible.

To me that was a pretty solid shot in the “confirmed” category.

However, I heard that there was no mention of the WoW movie at this year’s Blizzcon so it’s anyone’s guess and who knows.. maybe the movie conglomerates are a bit gunshy at the moment due to the economy. I know I read an article about how major movie funding was finally getting hit and the major studios were now having a harder and harder time getting financing and were having to post more up front capitol to garner their funding. This of course was leading the studios to reevaluate their projects and reprioritize.. maybe WoW got reprioritized.
