I was in Steelfury’s Weapon Emporium in Iron Forge waiting for a Lfg to pop on my Shadow Priest when I noticed these symbols inside on the stair well, so I googled stuff like “Runes on Walls on iron forge” and got nothing.
I recognise them as being Runes. However some of them are a bit odd – I had an interest in Nordic Mythology when I was younger,
If you look at the below table – this is the most basic of Runic scripts, there are also Danish, Swedish- Norse, Anglo Saxon Futhorc – if your interested Ancient Scripts have a good history.
Image from Ancient Scripts
This symbol isn’t really in the Runic scripts
But It could be a Z
The next one is clearly either an A ( Futhark) or a ae if Anglo Saxon
The next one could either be a N? but I think it looks closer to the Japanese symbol for 1000 1,000 千 sen
Because the following Symbol also doesn’t really appear in the Runic Alphabets , it could a H in Anglo saxon – it is the Japanese symbol for San, or 3 三 san – and thats just another language I recognise, I’m sure there are many others.
Some of the Symbols are quite Obvious, If I take that little Triangle thing as a End of Sentence thing
or Hi Zano Hi Me?
Who is Zano?
These in an unnamed shop with stairs going up, are the same Runes in a backwards pattern
I know that some developer probably sat there did some random strokes ( lets not start on the origins of the death knight runes ( Hey! I shall look at them and see how easy it is to match) but I was curious to see if they had a hidden cookie in these ones. You can see though, that some are definitely based on a real script
