I finally get a response.. 3 and a bit weeks later..
Declined 🙂
they did a mass decline for most of the apps over the last month
For reasons being gear is not up to sunwell – and there are upgrades in ZA
Which by my estimation is only Hex lords helm, and maybe a ring, unless I want to build a haste set which will nerf my +shadow damage below recommended haste stacking raid buffed, and I said that in my app.
But its good to know. Finally.
Now I can move on.
I had hoped that they would be looking at recruitment for WOTLK and beyond but if they are still looking or considering sunwell then thats their call. I will never apply for them again, and even when I’m 80 and they are recuiting like all the raiding guilds will do – I will always be the one who has been rejected by them. So not worthy
The “exceptional applicants” clause that most put into their apps is often bull, and no thats not being bitter, Three weeks is a long time considering how close the patch and expansion are, and there will be interesting times ahead with the changes.
I applied for that guild in particular even though I knew they were in sunwell because, they were a ‘designer’ guild Steady, stable leadership – good rep – good progression, 3 day raiding schedule – no public drama ect ect. \
But next…
I am hungry for more formalised raiding that is not on a Saturday morning and involves dying alot..
Three weeks without feedback is a bit extreme.
When my perky priestess’s raid was recruiting, I used the argue with the leadership that they didn’t maintain enough communication with applicants. People would post an application on the forums and then, I don’t know, something would happen. But no one replied, no one gave feedback, no one even welcomed the poor people.
I started taking the responsibility of greeting people, giving feedback and suggestions, and then prodding the leadership to reply. I mean, if you’re recruiting you want to create as welcoming an environment as possible for people, correct? Bleh!
Ick. If I had been waiting for three weeks, I would have just moved on without them – I wouldn’t want to be in a guild that would leave an app hanging for three weeks without any communication.
Technically I had moved on…. but didn’t want to apply else where with a pending raiding guild app and now its getting too late to move on as less and less guilds are raiding.,
oh well come what may..
Although it always sucks to be declined, a mass declination usually indicates that the guild had a) too many apps and was getting swamped and b) moving a tier phase up.
In our guild we are just moving to full-on T5 raiding, and I feel the pain as Magical DPS mentor for Saga to have to decline people because their gear is not up to it. We sometimes help with one or two pieces, but unless it’s up to specs, it’s a “no until you improve your gear”.
But gratz on being able to move on and find a new warm and fuzzy spot from which to take pot shots at raid bosses 🙂
