Tj’s post She’s heee-eeere. A post where she discusses her sister finding her blog, got me thinking – Is there anyone out there who knows me, but that I don’t know that you know me – and that your reading?
I had some cryptic comments a little while back asking me for disclosure, and I did it, Some minor detective work (like reading recent posts) ( and certainly not so hard recently) would quitely easily aid you in locating who I am in game, – if it matters..
6 months after those comments, a random toon on my server starts talking to me – turns out it’s an ex guildy’s alt – who used to be an officer of a guild I used to be. After about 5 min’s of conversation he says “Oh By the way I read your blog- sorry for the funny comments” – My brain went click! – So the next thought was – ok so who is going to find out – or who would have already known, and I came up with potentially another 3 close people through this person, I held my bated breath for the impact of this discovery, and besides 2 people reading every single one of my posts in one day – that was it.
I recently found out someone I know is blogging through some accidental link clicking, and reading of another blog, and then asking a direct question so since I know who he is, I offered up who I was. He wants to remain little known, so I will respect that decision, and keep it so.
But yeah – I’d like to know – My posting hasn’t changed after finding out potentially that every single member of a guild that I sucked at my class in, ( well more that my internets sucked, and hence my performance was not as good as it could have been.) and had loads of issues with the raiding style Screaming Style on occasion – that they all could potentially be made aware of my point of view.
but would you tell me?
I had a similar thing going on for a while, where I was getting hits from my “guild”(well it isn’t a guild, its a group of mates) website… often more than 1 per day… yet no one ever said anything.
I finally found out it was just one of my mates… but I was being careful for a little while there…
I have past and present guildies who stalk my blog but they never delurk in comments. But from time-to-time they mention things they’ve read. It’s sorta funny. I have come across blogs of folks I know in game and I do always delurk and say hi.
Had two long time wow’ers find my blog – and read the articles all about the guildhoping, raids, etc we were doing at the time. Was kind of weird, but also nice to see they respected it too.
