I Could say that my Dps was rare

A bit of a boast post..
We got the Hodir Hardmode finally a couple of weeks ago,  and still havent located where all my screenshots have gone to, and the person who does the WWS/logs wasn’t in the fight for the kill, and when I do a SS on my new pc I have no idea where its putting them, so  I lost my Dps Metre shot for that fight,

We got the hardmode again tonight and I managed to get some screenies. Just to show I wasn’t mindsearing on a pack mob to get these sort of numbers- I’ve included the detail window.

First on DPS.  11671 Dps. 4th on overall damage.   My first kill was I think only 9k, and our attempts tonight went from 6-9ish but its the final kill that counts right?

So my Dps on the Flashfreezes was dismal, but I can usually only get dots up on them anyway, and the strat we use as to what classes are allowed to stay on boss changes every week. but now I don’t have to dispel,  aren’t getting any screen freezes, and will chase the person with the stormcloud across the room  – and thats the result.   Shadow Priests Scale very well with Stormcloud apparently.

And they say shadow priests don’t do that much dps… (Obviously that doesn’t count player skill, which you have)

    Well done!

“Shadow Priests Scale very well with Stormcloud apparently.”

True for every other class. Damage in that fight is almost proportional to the number of times you get it.

    Awesome, very well done!!

What tools/addons do you use to create those graphs? I love it!

That is really good going…your figures are multiples of my best dps ever as a Shadowpriest!

The sources of your damage are roughly in the same proportion to mine (and I use recount as well to track it), which is a bit more reassuring. I was surprised when I noticed how small the extra damage is from improved devouring plague for both of us. Do you think recount is tracking that correctly? Not sure I’ve got a better use for the 3 points in my talent tree though.

If your new computer is running Vista that might be why you can’t find them. I know some update to Vista moved my WoW folder into the Public folder instead of where it used to be.

    Grats on the deepz!

@Kiwired – We has potential! Need to try and get it more consistantly though on all attempts for this fight.
@Jor – one of the advantages of being ranged, is that we can chase the stormcloud ( yes I admit I probably stole stacks off melee.. ) but I was chasing that cloud whereever it went so thats why I got it more.
@James – It’s just recount. The detail screen has pretty graphs
@Ango – Have you seen what other sp’s are doing.. 14k – 16 k.. /cringe I need to do some more practising. and improved dp isn’t a lot on anyones damage metres I have seen, its worse then a chance on hit for additional damage trinket proc. Our WWS person wasn’t in that fight either 😦 so no way to confirm. Sometimes my recount shows lower damage then a WWS, It might be a range thing, I try and stand as far away from bosses as possible, but am gonna try and see if someone else has one and dig it up.
@Xeonio – yeah it’s Vista and it has has been a slight pain trying to work out what it does to my program files.

What I was trying to say is that individual DPS isn’t as useful a metric as total DPS, since each individual doesn’t have a lot of control over their total performance. Snagging storm cloud buffs is fun but it doesn’t help DPS if the wrong classes are getting them, or if the same four people are getting them over and over. Every storm cloud buff that you take is one that someone else couldn’t get. For example, notice Jezzix’s low position on the meter, who historically has no problem doing 10k in that fight and could probably break 15k consistently with more Storm Cloud organization.

But Tempest has always used the “just a bit of bad luck” strategies, waiting for that finessed moment of perfect storm cloud/light beam layout, so what else is new?

The biggest indicator of concern on those meters is the low position of all the casters.

1 lock, 1 mage and a spriest against 6 melee classes. Theres a FFb specced mage doign 7.8k – half what they should be doing. Hell my Naxx 10 geared mage could top that.

Makes me wonder if the casters are chasing the buffs like they should be.

@Jor – those same 4 people are perhaps the same people chasing them. It would be more useful if we had a proper log to pull apart because I am also curious how many times who got what, and what was dps times, and also if they got the buff and it didn’t help them. I have been picking chasing a cloud Stormcloud over standing in a Lightbeam if it came down to a choice. Ideally I would like both, and you can also see from my lack of Singe how little time I spent near a fire. I might try a fire /stormcloud focus next time to see if that changes anything, but I still plan on chasing Stormclouds regardless..
@Silk maybe we need to make it more organised? Just from some of Logs I’ve linked in my next post we are no where near the dps they are putting out. Yes we are getting the hardmode, but there are so many guilds doing it around the 2 min mark http://www.wowmeteronline.com/search/boss/1651#common25 and we are so far off
