I’m 790 Rep short of Exalted with the League of Arathor, which is realistically close enough, but I have a long way to go for Silverwing Sentinels.
Apparently working on 35 Rep a flag return and 23303 to go untill exalted with the Sentinels thats 665.8 Flags I need or 221 WSG Wins ( 3 flags in a win) .
If I play all weekend on a WSG weekend I apparently get +10 more rep per flag –
/sigh my life will have to be WSG for the next month or three.
Is it worth changing my race to human so I need 66 less flags? ( or there about)
Why would I do something so Insane?
I love Pvp. If there was a title amongst all the titles that I felt meant something to me. Justicar would be one that represented where a lot of my time and love and hate goes.
How does something so repetitious still be enjoyable? It could be the pesky pally that JUST WON”T DIE! Or the Warlock that chains me and goes *opps when I have fear warded, and I have dotted him to death for a change. The hunter who sends his pet after me, and forgets to resend after I have Shadow Melded and his pet runs off and then I kill him, the thrill of chasing flag carriers – dispel fear, dot – the thrill of being the flag carrier. Dispel, fear, heal trinket ” HALP!” Yelling at people to get out of the middle. That first time everyone heads to the flag room in WSG and your part of a team! untill the rogue stealth, some go up the tunnel, some up the ramp. Some one starts the fighting in the middle. levitating off LM to BS and hoping no one sees you in time for a ninja cap. The sound of your bikes engines roaring as you ride through the crisp clean snow in AV and so on.
I get more out of Pvp emotionally then a raid. So getting the PVP title would be more meaningful to me then my current “Of the Nightfall” which while sounds cool – was done by bugging out Sarth, and dps zerging . – how is that an accomplishment?
Change race just for an achievement? Surely not!
I found the best way to achieve the Silverwing Sentinel was time, and patience. Oh, and a few premades. It’s so very frustrating that you only get rep for captures – so you can feasibly go all day in WSG without any rep because Alliance fails (and all those other pvp cliches).
It might be worth putting together a few friends, advertising in trade chat for more people and going with 9 people. All you need is two people to run (Druid/Prot Person and a healer) and then 1-2 healers and the rest DPS for Mid. If you can find a rogue or hunter to camp flagroom on defence it works well too.
I’m sure there would be plenty of people willing to come along to help you, lots of people need rep/wins/honor and usually success begets more success – if you are doing well, your members will try to recruit their friends to get them “in on the action”.
One other thing though – if you queue with 9 it seems (YMMV) that you are less likely to be queued against premades, however on WSG weekend your chances of coming up against another premade are significantly higher so you might find that its more rep per hour in a premade on the non-WSG weekends.
Good luck with your achievement 🙂
Hmm…how will this title work in 3.3? I’ve read somewhere things are changing, but am not sure anymore what exactly is changing.
Good luck on this though. PVP to me is all too often like someone is scratching their nails down a the blackboard….yes, that.
Why don’t you search for a PvP guild. With premade WSG’s your chances would increase by large.
I mean when I go to WSG, it’s 50-50. If I go together with my girlfriend, just ONE person to cooperate with, it goes up to 70-80% win chance.
One more trick: Saturday-sunday midday-early afternon. Most of the players are kids who can be AoE-d down like some trashmobs.
Hi,
first of all I would like to say that I really enjoy your posts, even if it is the first time I happen to comment on one.
I did the rep grind recently and there are a few things I just want to share.
First of all, I am disc specced. You don’t need to, but the one big advance is that you have at least one healer in your BG.
As the Bak and Gevlon already stated it is much more likely to win if you do it in a group. One other player most often is enough to get a win over a 25 minutes zerg with 0 rep gain.
I used to carry the flag a lot, and that for I really really recommend the Free Action Potion (I am not sure whether it’s the original name. The potion that makes you immune to stuns and snare for 30 seconds). It is higly underratet, but you will get from the opponents tunnel to your tunnel without beeing harrassed by rogues, rets and deaf knights (pun intended).
I played a lot with a rogue and a ret buddy, both classes can save a priests ass more than just one time.
If you happen to have a bad streak of lilke three fail BGs in a row, don’t sign for the fourth. Do something else instead, and try another time.
If you don’t have won at least one flag in the first 10 minutes of a BG /afk and enjoy the 15 minutes break. It is much better getting a coffee or something than watching the time ticking away without any personal gain.
Sorry that I cannot provide the ultimate I-WIN-STRAT but I hope there’s some information which is useful.
Good luck Justicar-to-be.
@Bak -So what are you doing this weekend… Feel like running a million WSG’s?
@Shy – I swear I also read something about them making it a little easier but can’t find it.
@Gevlon – I don’t think I have seen a premade WSG ever being advertised, and yes I’ve found that if you can control the flag running team your sucess is much more likely, and theres never enough kids to Aoe.. when it’s our peak time its another time zones adult time/
@Alfonsis – cheers for your advise, and thanks! An I- Win strat would get boring after a while, I want the title for the challenge its represented as well as ALL the fun I’ve had.
Getting the title won’t get easier. It’s just that the rep isn’t necessary anymore to becom “Master of …”
They’re introducing new titles for beeing exalted with AV, WSG and AB, but Justicar will still need beeing exalted with all three factions.
I’ve always been impressed with the people who are willing to work on these titles or who already have them. Good luck and keep us updated!
Good luck on getting your title! The grind really isn’t as bad as most people make it seem- especially if you actually enjoy PvPing.
I actually got my exalted rep with these 3 factions back in vanilla wow, when the exalted gear you can buy from these factions were actually still good for you.
It also helped being a Human on my Mage 🙂
It would be nice if Blizzard would upgrade the rewards to a lvl 80 version. It’ll give players a reason to start doing BGs again.
I wish Wintergrasp had its own faction rep. It would give me a reason to participate more often.
15k rep to go with silverwing sents, and i’m already bored but, it’s the last rep i need for justicar so yah 😉 i just figure the harder and longer you work towards something, the more enjoyment you’re gonna get out of it. gl with the title man, and remember, everything in moderation, don’t burn yourself out early on wsg ^^
16562/21000 atm – it’s been a hard slog, and I think I will probably never set foot in a WSG on this toon again after, but yeap still on track for my goal – and I will get there eventually
