You may have seen / been aware of the little exploit in BG’s where if someone hops in a bike passenger seat, and then clicks on the WSG flag they can be driven up the WSG battlefield in style on a motorcycle.
I am not going to pretend that I follow the rules all the time – Wow – life – I can be slightly unconventional but when it comes to breaking rules I am a little more conservative – would rather stretch a rule then break it, and It’s not likely to be planned – but more a spur of the moment – lets see what happens, but not before I at least consider the consequences and the reward.
” Hey Flag carrier – get in the Shadow priests bike so we can cheat and win”
I stopped tearing down the battlefield chasing after the flag carrier.
“Uh uh not on my bike – if you need to cheat to win then you don’t deserve to win. ”
“Oh come on… The horde are going to do it.. ”
I don’t know if Blizzard punishes people for every minor exploit – we know they do the major ones, but I didn’t want to find out – for what.. a WSG win.
IF we were even going to win. I saw someone on Alliance try it again last night, and they got wiped out. This cheat encouraged them to play lazy and keep trying to use the exploit to their advantage rather than just playing as they should. The only advantage getting in that bike as a passenger is speed if you are free and clear.
There was no way I was going to risk it firstly because it was an exploit, and secondly it wasn’t worth the reward to systematically use it and get punished for it. – Now my biggest Wow rule break was the airstrip – and that village above Menethil Harbour when I went there with some guildys in my Hidden Places post , it was an almost Gamelong curiosity satisfied – that was worth being punished for – if I were ever called on it. ( and I was not) It also didn’t gain me any advantage in game.
I do try and do the right thing even if no one is watching, and take this post as revealing the exploit to those not aware of it – as my little piece of community service telling you its wrong and a exploit thus not to be used.
Though – no one told me it was an exploit – it could just be using the existing game mechanics……….. but you know. You do. You know that it’s wrong. So Don’t!
Don’t even try…
What the?
Bloody engineers 😉
and anyone with a bike!
I can ride my bike with no handle bars…
I shall not be riding in your bike then…
I remember a Gladiator paladin from our guild who was exploiting terrain in WSG in order to withhold a flag (iirc) and someone from another server screen-shot him doing the dirty and placed it on our guild forum. Needless to say our GM wasn’t best pleased and gave him quite the talking to! I’m quite glad Mythic frown on exploiting as it makes for a good guild reputation.
