Woot – I’m the intro on the Twisted Nether Blogcast Ep 82 –  am I allowed to boast about 11 secs or so of air time?

All my gear sets have been saved with my Guild Tabard  – so now I am not in a guild on my main – I have this Ugly Grey Tabard which is especially apparent if I am not in Shadow.

Why does it have to be grey? 

Why not white,   blank, full of promise and hope.  New beginnings,  a fresh slate ?

It is grey,  a colour often seen as a colour of shame in fiction.   Eg  The  Feist’s and Wurt’s Daughter of the Empire trilogy – where Grey Warriors are shamed and masterless Ronins of “fallen houses”  

While there is always that romantic notion of being Ronin, the only people who wear a grey tabard are usually those who just Gquit, and it’s the first thing often done after a Gquit.  The dramatic tearing off  of the Tabard. 

It’s a bit odd that I was still wearing it,  but if I do leave it on,  I could give the impression that I am a fresh Gquit, and haven’t been guildless for however long I end up being guildless for. 

I’ve not app’d anywhere.  Not even read who’s recruiting on forums.  I’m in a better place to see content just from the pugs that run, and especially since one of them last night was asking for 11/12  to participate in a 8/12  ICC run, while there are still 4/12 Pugs being run towards the end of the raiding week,  it looks like the Pug standards  – and success rates will have me seeing the Lich before Cataclysm.

The reality is – when guild chat can degrade to the quality of a General in ICC, and General chat in General – you don’t miss it specifically, but company is always good.  This is a MMO after all.  So I can’t see me being content with being guildless for too much longer again.
