Charrrrrgggeee

The most fun thing about playing a warrior is Charge.  I have a baby Warrior now for my “So you think you can  tank project”  She is level 13, and has a friend following around as her pocket healer.  Leveling up through questing, and aiming to get to instance running  shortly so I can tank.

Hakka Palle !!  *

Already I am off doing my own thing when the healer is saying ” OOM”  and plonking themselves down in the grass to drink, and I’m happily bashing away  at a couple of mobs  – saying – yeah yeah  she’ll be right mate

But Charge, is the greatest, and funnest thing ever invented after levitate.  See a mob.  CHARGE! Tauren female gliding effortlessly across the plains – out of the healers range.

Next one  CHARGE

There is almost a glee to be had when charging across the ground at a unsuspecting mob, I giggle everytime I do it  – it’s like Zrooomm  ‘Hi!’ WHACK

So very different from the standing still,  waving my hands around in pretty patterns placing my dots on the mob so very carefully.

Got a problem – Wham

You don’t like my face –  Smash

Don’t touch the armor – Slam

I am warrior hear me ROAR  ( well battle shout at least)

I am sure Warriors have gentle souls, and not extreme voilent tendencies as I seem to be displaying – but I know  – you see.   I know now what it means to be strong!

*( which is apparently Finnish for ‘Cut them down’ ) which I adore as a battle cry even though I probably prounce it wrong – ever since I read  S.M Stirling Dies the Fire and one of the characters in the books adopts it as their battlecry.

I remember when I played a Warrior as a test once.

Charge was just awesome. I remember trying to just get within charge range and hated it when I was too close to charge 😦

This healer sounds really bad to me. You should fire them.

Another cupful of tea wasted on the keyboard.. *cough*.. stop that will you :-p

“Hakkaa päälle” (yea, we use those funny umlaut-thngies, the vowel is a frontal variation of “a”, going a bit nasal.. if you say “at” as in “at the door” you have the right sound there). Commonly translated as “Cut’em’down” (another could be “Beat’em’up”). Hakkaa = [imperative for] strike, beat, hit, hack; Päälle = on top of something).

Used by finnish mercenaries (deployed by Swedes as we were part of Sweden then) in the great northern war. Also became the designation of the troops “Hakkapeliitta” (wikipedia probably has an article). Allegedly they were so feared by Germans that they prayed God to “deliver us from Hakkapelites”, similar to what monks had in Ireland during Viking age (“deliver us from the wrath of northmen”). Finns never went viking btw.

Your pronunciation would be understood and as such quite passable, but the lapses are going to be:
    – no double “k”, “l” (think of it as stopping in the middle like “hak-kaa”, “pääl-le”)
    – no long vowels “hakkAA”, “pÄÄlle” (just extend the sound longer than you think it would take to make it double. Usually yankees at least manage only to make it one-and-a-half instead of two 🙂
    – and obviously the “ä” sound there

You’ll make a fearsome warrior yet. With the love you show for charge I can easily see you in instances with the poor healer looking at the pile of sparkling (non-looted) corpses lying around after the whirlwind/cleave/whatnot, realizing he has no time to loot any because you’re happily blazing ahead, chain-pulling everything like all the psycho tanks we have around these days… /sigh

I feel for your healer already 🙂

I agree with Dunwich about being able to charge while still in combat. Highly useful, and highly amusing, at least at first!

Well, I’d probably wind up with Juniper’s clan, or luck out and scrounge off the protectorate if the Change happens, since I’m not lucky enough to have a shot at the Bearkillers (thanks for reminding me of that book!).

Still, I’ve only managed to level a warrior to around 15, but Charge is by far one of the cooler abilities in the game. That, or insta-shifting into flight form on my druid. 🙂

Having done slot of bearing thewarriotchargeis great. It makes rage instead of using it! Wahahaha… Mine is macroed to three other things. Actually I have 3or4 charge macros for all occasions. My warrior is a gnomette; a pink pingpong ball of death.

WOOOO Warriors! Best class in WoW, no questions.

Charge > any skill ever invented, ever! (I have 4 lvl 80 Warriors, 1 at 26 and another at mid 40’s… don’t you judge me!).

Is it terrible that I knew exactly where you got hakka palle from before I read the rest of the post?
