Singles Night @ The Legerdemain Lounge

I’ve been playing with Gimp.  That’s Gimp the imaging software,  not A Gimp. I need to do a new banner so have been fiddling around with some ideas – and the above seemed like a fun thing to create.

Because everything in Real Life can be applied back to Wow   or Vice Versa  ( how I miss those chocolates)   I remembered reading a story a few years ago about a dating phenomenon called the ” BIB” method, (Banana in Basket) . Where at supermarkets at a particular time and place –   the idea is that depending on the items you put in your shopping trolly  Eg a Banana in the Baby Basket of your trolly it lets the other shoppers know that your available, and are looking to be picked up / what you’re preferences are.  It’s a secret singles Grocery code.

How does my twisted brain apply this to wow?  – Lets apply this in a more RP Fashion – apparently people RP Romance while RPing and do ERP. Mmmmmm – I had no idea….

So say you hypothetically are on a RP realm,  and hypothetically decide it’s time that your character needs a partner.  How would you Hypothetically met said person.

So the  Legerdemain Lounge has a singles night on a Friday night –  and all these random people turn up – how are you going to tell if people are in the bar are single,  just looking for a date,  want a long term partner or are just afking waiting for something else to happen.

We invent our own Grocery Secret Singles code. ( ok not so secret now) Instead of arranging our fruit in a shopping trolly – you equip/show your gear in a particular way.

Here are some ideas.

No Cloak = I’m free and single and Looking

Helm visible = I’m Taken  but I’m here to look anyway

With Tabard =Looking for committed relationship

No Shoulders = Looking for adventure

Holding black roses = Looking for a rebound

Holding red roses  =  Looking for Love

Shirt and casual pants  = laid back – here to chill  – might talk to you if you look interesting.

Dressed up in a Slinky Dress or a Tux  = I’m Single –  footloose and fancy free

I’m sure there are a few other variations – and combination’s that will help you meet the right people.

I’ll be at the bar talking to the bartender.

Disclaimer:  We finished raid early.  I needed something to do.  Apologies in advance if this doesn’t go down well 😛

No need for a disclaimer. I love it. Very well done.

    Awesome!

Reminds me of a club night that was held at University. Wear red for taken, yellow/orange for a maybe and green for raring to go o.o

Are you planning to buy a drink or just stand there crying? He’s got paying customers!

    Who brings the lotion?

Seriously I don’t think RP, and especially ERP should be allowed in World of Warcraft. Not just because I think RP is 99 percent crap, but this game is rated Teen, what if my 13 year old, daughter. or maybe son is playing a girl toon and is accidently exposed to this crap.

Anyone who supports ERP should be ashamed of themeselves and get a life.

This is why they include “experience may change during online play”. The content the devs give is teen, they make no claims about anything else. That is up to the player/parent to decide whether it is appropriate. I am curious though, why is ERP the complaint and not the constant violence? There’s no condom for murder.

experience may change during online play is true, things are going to happen. To allow it, and to promote it are two different things.

As for the violence It’s world of warcraft, not world of wanking.

Rp’ers take rping very seriously – A sleeze may try and EPR with a random, but I can’t see a real rp’er heading down the ‘lets Rp an relationship’ unless it was part of a mutual story line progression.

I use to be an RPer back in the day on other games and what not… but what is ERP?

And are you kidding me? The immersion is what makes WoW so badass to me. I am Field Marshal Physique, Priestess of Elune, Hand of A’dal… Epic storyline makes for such an epic playing.

Although, WoW just doesn’t have the same kind of RP setting to me as it does on other games. When I use to “more hardcore RP” as I like to call it, those were text-based games. Back when I was an Admiral in the Empire or soldier of Tyrgoth or some such. I just don’t feel the same RPing in such a manner in a graphical game… but I totally believe in immersion and lore/story, it’s what keeps me in WoW.

Is this your way of hinting at loneliness outside of WoW? 😛

    • 18 Pugnacious Priest June 18, 2010 at 12:29 am

hey no Psuedo Psych evaluations of my blog posts 😛

      • 19 Narx June 18, 2010 at 5:23 am

        Could be worse.

Could be ERP pseudo psych therapy.

Male Druid: “Priestess, I have a problem. I have been alone for a long time now and no longer feel the light of Elune upon me.”
Female Priest: “Let’s get you undressed, I mean unblessed, I mean let’s get you touched, I mean… sigh.”
