On the road that I taken,
one day, walking, I awaken,
amazed to see where I have come,
where I’m going, where I’m from.
This is not the path I thought.
This is not the place I sought.
This is not the dream I bought,
just a fever of fate I’ve caught.
Dean Koontz – book of counted sorrows
I love Dean Koonzt!
The Draenei tell us sometimes to ” Follow the Road Favoured by Few” Yet as Lobies we are advised that the road is safer – we still get attacked, anyone who has ever done the Iron Forge to Menethil Harbour run will tell you that.
The downside of this safety means that we don’t open up a lot of the map that way, and miss out on Xp, and the knowledge of what lies beyond the path, and like many journeys much adventure can be had not staying on the road, leave the road. Leave safety. Be Bold and Brave! Uh.. but don’t do STUPID things.
How many people actually use the roads? I jump off cliffs and walls, ride through swamps as often as health allows, but I remember those careful stick to the road days as a lobie, harder to run away from dangerous mobs then it is just to keep riding now.
Hope all those at Blizzcon are having a lot of fun. /envious mutterings.. 🙂
Ah, I absolutely love Dean Koontz.
“In the real world,
as in dreams,
nothing is quite
as it seems.”
My lowbies make a point to run/ride to everywhere they can see, and if they die – well, it’s still fun =)
I’m levelling a baby warrior now and my method of travel is more or less charge into anything and everything that’s a mob along the way. I don’t just run through the swamp, I’m choosing to hack my way through 😀
