The Guild Season 5 ” Episode 9 ‘”Invite accepted” Fawkes says to Codex
“Codex I am a lone unarmed paladin in a Pvp wasteland whose god has forsaken him……. Crit heal my loneliness.”
Ok we know he was a douche. Don’t date the bad boy – even if he is a gamer ( and pallys seem to be the biggest charmers in game ….. )
The particular line “Crit heal my loneliness ” though, seems to be more about him joining Codex’s guild because his fell apart, then about wanting to get back with her, but I like it because it means something a little bit different to me.
You can take what you want from the line, but I’ll take it as “Overflow my health bar with life and happiness” or even “give me somewhere that I belong”
I was trying to think of any girl, that I have met in guilds, over what is years, that had never been involved with a boy from wow, even once, and I include online only relationships, and real life ones here, girls that came to the game on their own, and girls that were bought here by partners. Only one comes to mind, she never spoke on vent, but I believe she was a much older lady.
There has been inter-state, inter-country, marriages, divorces, babies, drama, failures and successes, girls that got around, guys that got around, cheaters, two timers, lovey dovey couples, and people who kept their relationship secret, its like real life, some work, some don’t, but it seems to happen a lot. I know Wow creates a better environment where there is opportunity to meet like minded people, there are guilds, there is vent, ( and yes, sometimes lots of drama)
I think the girl/boy ratio makes it easier for girls to find like-minded boys in wow, but you don’t run around stormwind with a ” lf bf who shares “these interests” Lives” ** miles/kilometers near me is in “this” age bracket. You can walk past someone in the street that you know in-game, and not know who they are ( unless they are on your facebook, and you stare at them rudely thinking that they look familiar and then check with them next you see them on wow ” were you wearing…. today near this street in the city at this time” ( true story that)
I have kept my inner cynic and still put more importance in a relationship being real when you can be physically close, at least sometimes, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t get emotionally involved when it’s not, and I know male and female players in-game who can say they have been there and gotten hurt.
But sometimes you can meet someone under unexpected circumstances and they end up on your friends list, you speak to them in some way on a daily basis, and then you look forward to seeing them as often as you can ( IRL). Sometimes it makes sense, even when there sometimes is a stateline between you.
