GDKP’s

I’ve talked about GDKP’s which are pretty prevalent on Blackrock before,  It seems from comments,  and other server talks,  that it’s prevalence is a little unique.  Sure other realms have them, but on Alliance side of BR there is at least one ICC 25 GDKP running  every night during  Aussie peak hours,  and one or several during the day / our early mornings. Not as frequent,  but still quite common are 25 TOC’s, and 25TOGC’s run.

Anyone can run them.  Not Everyone should run them. Eg last night.  The person who started the TOC 25 GDKP – had extremely poor english speaking skills, minimal communication, and a non working GDKP mod.   It was salvaged by a good friend of mine who took over loot bidding, gold, and raid leading,  all the while also main tanking.  If not for them – the group would have failed.

Most of them are run through a GDKP mod,  this keeps track of the pot, and controls the bidding – picking up on the gold bids through raid chat. But it can fail if the Loot master has to restart PC,  or like the TOC  last night find out that the Loot master can’t get it working after killing beasts .  It had  to be done manually – which is a pain,  but it’s not the end of the run,  enough people where keeping track of the loot so it was all fair

Getting into a GDKP

Some of them have varying requirements, and ‘qualifications’  min gear scores, achievements and Gold – if your running it you set the rules.  Depends on how picky you are will depend on how long it takes to fill and also your chances of success.

Some of the time those requirements are negotiable. I got my 10/12  25 ICC ( with Some heroics) by linking my 10 man 10/12 and I think showing I had done at least 6/12 on 25. My 6/12 25 was done, because I ran a 10 man ICC with the 25’s raid leader the day before  and had proven I was capable.

Some of its networking, finding out when the good runs are,  proving yourself in other places.  Just because it’s a Pug it doesn’t mean that have an automatic right to be there because you think you deserve to. I guess it is like a social judgement, if you’re not on the guest list,  you’re not invited. It can also be who can vouch for you,  friendship/guild relationship   ( Eg a guild running it will take guild alts for gearing up.

It may also depend on your role, and how desperate they are – if you see this being spammed in trade for 5 min   LF1 Rogue   ICC 25  7/10  GDKP Pst GS achieve and Gold  and you reply   5.7 Rogue 4/10  looking for New dagger.  They may take a calculated risk and invite you,  rather than keep 23 other people waiting.  Especially if they are having issues finding that last healer.

I’ve never faked an achievement,  I try to avoid linking gold – and I have rounded up my 13k to 15k – but most of the time you don’t need to lie.

I will lay bets that rarely will you have everyone in that raid meeting all posted requirements on the toon they are on, and that can also be why there can varying success.

GDKP Rules

The  rules, or expected behaviour may also include

No flask/food / vent no gold.

I’ve not seen the flask/food rule punished for,  but I have seen stern warnings in regards to the vent requirement.

If You cause wipes/perform very poorly you may get kicked

There may be Min bids on some items eg Tier tokens,  or trinkets,  or Heroic gear to stop people from bargain shopping and keep the pot healthy

There may be a payment for a Kingslayer to unlock Heroic modes.  ( standard fee is 1k on 25)  40 gold each taken from the Pot.

Patience may be required when the run is ended, and the gold is being handed out.  If the Loot Master says – I WILL TRADE YOU.  And you spam him  with trade invites.  You may miss out on any gold when you get removed from the group.  It’s distributed with a method,  so they aren’t losing their own gold and they can track who has already gotten their share of the gold. They might work from group 1 to 5 or who ever is stacked close to them. Any way they do it they are trying to keep it fair.

Imagine 24 people trying to trade you saying. Gimme gold now – what do you think the error rates would be  and thus and the loss of trust factor on this system would be?

Successes

My biggest pot has been 6k from a 1o boss kill in ICC,  I spent 14k in that one though,  for which I got a Tier Token, and a 271 Heroic Neck .  I got Reign the other week for 8k in a TOC – but in early days ICC Reign was still going for 20-30 k gold, which was way out of my reach.

Even though the TOC last night only got 4/5 it was still a success because there was control, and a confident leader.  We killed stuff without a wipe fest,  people got loot. People got gold.  After one wipe on Twins because people restless we were down 3 by this point,  and a couple demanded their gold.  A ready check was done, and a majority chose to stay.  More people leaving would have spelled the end of the run smaller pot, less loot – so they got a choice – leave now and no gold.   They signed up for a 5 boss kill.  A 3 hour run, 50 wipes  would be unreasonable expectations – but after one wipe on twins, and they wanted to bail.   That is not reasonable. Of course they stayed, and we killed the twins. Success!

Sometimes you need to pick and choose your GDKP’s I guess wisdom comes with experience,  and this is me trying to pass on some of mine. It’s still a risk,  though. I’m a big fan of GDKP’s ( if you can’t tell )  I’ve not been in one that was ninja’d  ( touch wood) But they have become very much part of the Faction and Realm culture – back on Dath’remar the odd one gets run,  but only by top end guilds, and often with preset invitee’s  organised on forums, and strict gold requirements.

Failures

People lie to get in, fake achievements and if 24 people negotiated their way in,  or the Raid leader expected to be carried  then obviously your more likely to fail.

I’ve done ones that disbanded on Marrowgar trash, couldn’t kill beasts, got called at Saurfang, wiped on boat – just like any other pug . I can pretty much garantee a 4/12  boss kill on any I do on either of my priests though now.

I’ve seen more runs fail on attitude, and I guess Synergy and poor leadership then gear and experience. Like any pug,  one wipe can be enough for the breakdown of the entire raid.  F this says a random dps.  2 people leave,  then a 3rd, a 4th, and then it just becomes too hard.

I’ve even tried a couple of TOGC 25 GDKP’s – one got that bad that half the raid left group in anger after a 6th fail at Faction champs.  Of course there was still gold to be distributed  – so those who stayed got more.

If your main tank abandons you at Saurfang,  and your only planning for 4/12  – unless the pot is decent you may have issues trying to fill.   I’ve been in a few TOC 25’s where getting someone in for Anub hasn’t been too difficult because of the loot that might drop, and if they aren’t planing on doing the run,  an easy couple of hundred  could be appealing.

Why I like them

I spend in GDKP’s,  I make money off GDKP’s

I don’t have to be in a guild to see content,  or get gear, and I get to profit from the experience

Good value loot – My Healing Priest Ostaraa got new boots from TOC  last night- they were a upgade, I checked the AH after,  and for 2k there were boots about on par with them,  The ICC crafted boots were 6 k.  For 800 gold I got new boots, and with my share of the pot just under 800 – im outof pocket only a small amount for an upgrade.

There is also more motivation for a GDKP to stick it out.  There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.  People are less likely to leave –  I trust your interest in the sucess of this is as great as mine,  and a stable raid increases the success.  Greed is a powerful motivator.

Trust

There is still a big trust factor – currently Blizzard will still intervene with gold pot Ninja’s  – there was chatter in trade last week of one person with a respected guild tag ninjaing, and server transferring. I’ve done them successfully with Guildless,   little guilds,  big guilds.  You still need to be able to work as part of a team with strangers.  I’m noticing less carried people these days,  or the gaps between OP, and carried is getting shorter as people get geared up.

Maybe GDKP’s will get phased out.  The structure of the content and timing now is good for this.  People have the geared alts to do them,  giving people opportunity to see content,  get gear that they wouldn’t otherwise.

I guess BR has had lots of practise getting it right,   – I’ve never run one,  and probably won’t so I can’t give you advise on how to build the trust the people on your realm need to get them off the ground.  25 random people doing something that requires skill, and involves gold.  There’s a bit at stake there – you need people with spare gold,  you need people, with toons that are free to use their raid ID’s as they choose – and often some realms struggle for 25 man raiding.  It is a lot to ask unless you have the right population.

In conclusion,  if you have made it this far –  I have fun in them.  I love the flexibility,  I like the ‘easy’ gold, I also like that RNG means nothing when you can pay for what you want.   I don’t believe it means I have been carried because I have purchased some of my upgrades – I still have had to read strats for bosses / Hardmodes, still had to  perform,  heal, dps,  dispel. 25 lazy people still means a fail and why fail when you can profit!

Where’s my Replenishment?

Shadow Priest T10 4 set bonus  makes procing replenishment a dps loss.

But ” A good shadow priest…   ”

1) Proc’s Replenishment because we are the original mana battery B*tches

2) Does what is good for themselves   ( and the raid by doing awesome dps!)

3) Trys and finds a happy compromise like a good raider should.

I aim for # 3

But I need a little help.   Replenishment lasts for 14 sec   I could proc it so it overlaps more if I used Mindblast on Cool down  but I don’t have to unless people are having serious mana issues.

I set Power Auras the add on up to show when Replenishment is active – so If I am not seeing it often enough I can deliberately proc it.

^^ Dodgy Screen shot taken while writing this and waiting for a TOGC to form.

I have a regular 10 ICC group now  ( does 2 weeks so far make it regular?)  and  I am the only source for replenishment.

It seems kind of silly though,  that of all the things to be concerned about in a raid – that replenishment becomes so important when it’s not there

To Mindblast or not to Mindblast

Shadow Priest T10 4 set bonus  makes our Mindblasting redundant.

You need Shadow Priests Mindblasting to Proc replenishment.

I got my 4 set, and have been running lfg’s with it to test – but nothing tests out a gear set then a 25 man raid, and competition between similarly geared  x 3 shadow priests

I was coming 3rd for the first 4 boss in ICC between the shadow priests on the boss fights  ( one shadow priest wasn’t even bothering to dps the trash – so I was coming 1st over all but that doesn’t count) .  Some of it I thought I could contribute to,  that I don’t do many 25’s –  so experience.  I was dpsing adds when they weren’t – or doing more dps on the adds.  One didn’t even touch the spikes on Marrowgar. I mean wtf  2 ticks of Mindsear on Marrowgar as the target gets all 3  at the same time- that same priest  basically stood there during every trash pull and did nothing.  No kidding.  Me and the other shadow priest were 1st and 2nd over all – that priest was 15th

That same priest was kicking our butts on the 1st 4 bosses however.

They Pst’d me before we hit Rot and Fester telling me my Mindflay percentage was lower than it should be  – offering fellow shadow priestly advise.  I explained I was getting used to my 4 set,  and I know I was mindblasting more often than I have to with the 4 piece,  but the healers had complained about reduced replenishment anyway .

Then I thought   Its a pug GDKP.  They aren’t going to check who does what damage on what – unless we wipe on something silly – its damage that counts, and then it became important to me.  I checked their spell casts, and not one Mindblast.  So I thought – I can do that.

I could be the fail dpsing Shadow priest coming 3rd  -(was still top 10 I think for the Marrow,  Lady ,and Saurfang  so I wasn’t far behind). – that proc’d replenishment when the others didn’t ( and as if they would ever check mana gained, and who gave it to them)   or I could do what was best  for me.

It worked out quite well.

Festergut.

And I now have one token,  so I will be replacing one piece of T10 with an upgrade.

I pst the Shadow priest after this change in dpsing strategy – that I felt dirty not mindblasting – but it sure made a difference.  Eg I was chasing their coat tails.  They never replied, but I know what I didn’t do to get that result.

Maybe I’m the only one that cares – but we didn’t wipe,  the healers didn’t complain again anyway.  My Dps output was better. My 4 set bonus was put to better use. However maybe the reason why that 3rd shadow priest was 3rd was they were doing the ‘right’ thing

Did I do the right thing?

I DO feel dirty –  but maybe I shouldn’t.   We aren’t the only class that can proc replenishment.  Why Should I gimp my dps just in case.    It becomes a problem if no one has it  – but it wasn’t a problem then.

Other classes don’t necessarily know the intricacies of each other – so I think at this point – I shall do what is recommended – and mindblast a lot less.

Anger Management issues and a potty mouth

ME!

Yes I do..

Healing a TOC25 on my alt holy priest.  I swear we had lost so many people and gained so many new people in the pug it wasn’t funny. My patience was wearing thin. All the DPS rolled on the healing trinket, Solace of the defeated when it dropped on Jaxx and a discussion come up because they couldn’t understand that +mana meant it was a healers trinket, and I told them to go check their class forums for better options.

Oh yes.  Anger Management – and potty mouth.

I’ve sat through raids where every second word was a cuss – and it’s not to my taste.  I cuss every now and then,  and rarely in anger on vent.  But I couldn’t help it.

I mean as I type this  we are waiting to find 6 more people to make 25  – I’m only here for stuff like that trinket  – a new neck, and offhand maybe even a weapon ( if we get to anub. grumbles)

So yes I told someone he was a fail player in vent because he was leaving a TOC 25 and he didn’t get the shield he wanted, “I only come here for that shield and I didn’t get it so I’m off” and the rest of the raid was like wtf?  huh?

So I said he was fail for doing that  – and  he said he was not. So I told him he was a fail player and it wasn’t fair to the rest of the raid.

And he didn’t dc from vent quick enough because I also said he was a fail f’ken healer as well. (  1.155 heals and 400k healing overall on faction champs and he lived the whole time.. and only dispelled 6 times!)

Then he whispered someone else in the raid telling them they had anger management issues and a potty mouth.  The Pst was meant for me.

See that  # 4  that was a healer  # 5 was a tank.

Am I right for being angry?. No. PIXELS>  Repeat PIXELS   I was more upset at the fine display of teamwork he displayed – his lack of care or commitment to the raid – with a) being there,  and b) putting in some effort.  You can’t tell everyone’s motives in a pug – and he wasn’t the only one who left.  Fool him for being honest and earning my wrath.  ( and peoples still get loot and gquit guilds.   –  Still happens. Nods.)

So why write about it and subject you to yet another fail pug. Cause I crossed the line for me. It got to me and I was vocal about it so it’s a record for me to go back and say yeah..  I was weak –  I wasn’t justified for being abusive.  Anger management issues and Potty mouth are not labels I aspire to – it’s actually quite shameful.

Tank Ergo Ego

I was told I had the ego for tanking.

and then promptly told that I wouldn’t be a good tank.

Do you need an ego to tank?   Should I roll a ‘tank’ and see?  It shouldn’t be too hard to get to level 20 and find a low level dungeon to have a go at.   Any  Druid,  Rogue, and Warrior of mine has never made it past level 14  – my Pally made it – barely.  So upset with my Pally I was – and how long it took to kill anything made me actually delete it in frustration, but I never tried to tank with her.

Someone come with me?  Preferably as a uber healer incase I let the dps die.

See I would have thought a tank ought to be quite humble. The idea of of turning my back on my entire party/raid – stick my face and weapon/claws into the immediate reach of one,  or multiple nasties – and trust that my healer will not let me die.  I see that as more a humble position, rather then a egotistical position,  you know you are going to take damage.  It’s not your job to worry about your health bar to the extent that a healer needs to worry – sure you need to know when to pop your cooldowns, but you do need to trust your healers.

(I know your only figuratively turning your back on the raid – your camera angle should be set to show you the raid. )

See that would be my main issue – trust

If I were to tank I am just as likely to then stop and heal myself – not because I don’t ‘trust’ my healers,  but more that I would need to let go of control – and maybe thats where my ego lies.  I like control. The total abandonment of self reliance would be hard for me .  I see tanks abandon this all the time, more notably  charging up that tunnel in POS – responsibility for their own health bar – and even healer placement is nil – and I don’t think relying on other people – letting go of control of your health bar is an egotistical behaviour

I know I am posting more lately – but brain has extra things to brain dump

Weekend round up.

and then..  and then.. and then…

I did stuff.

Got kicked out of HOR

Got Glory of the Hero   ( Finally)  and a red proto drake.  Apparently you can roll need  on orbs if your group is  5 premade.  We had to pug the 5th spot for a couple of the achieves we had left, and in telling them we were doing *blah*  one pug was like ” Do I have a choice?”  and nope – 1/2 an hour wait – or a  instance run with massively overgeared people and an achievement to boot.  What do you think he picked ?  He stayed of course.

Got that little bit closer to Justicar–  248 flags to go and I keep running into an ex flatmate/friend in WSG from another server. It’s kind of funny because I don’t see them them for months and months, and thenI run into them at the supermarket after work, and then I keep seeing them in WSG. If you were a believer in the Celestine prophesy then you would say that they have a ‘message for me,  or I them’ and fate shall keep throwing us at each other untill we work out what piece of information we need to pass on.    Or it could just be that we both like/have to do WSG.

I won more then lost  – alternating between heals and Dps as I got bored of one.   Sometimes ended up healing as shadow as required anyway – I know healers are important in a Bg, but I love to Pvp, and chasing  flag  carriers like a obedient puppy dog is not fun.  The Grind to Justicar is long and hard, would rather lose  more ( does not mean camped)  and play – then grind, and never want to set foot in a Bg again.  I’m not big on achievements,  but this one means / will mean a lot to me – it’s supposed to represent something I love to do- rather than an achievement for the sake of an extra few points.

Pugged a 10 man ICC on main.

Got told ” It’s good that girls play wow” by a pug rogue in one of the chattiest Pugs 10 man ICC’s I have ever been in.  ( I listened mostly – promise!  except adding suggestions for strats  – Like get on Marrowgars Hitbox)  I ended up putting down a few fish feasts just to get them to eat ( I find it amazing the amount of people still who ‘raid’ without food and flasks.)

We got the first 4 bosses, and we did Heroic Gunship, Rot, fester, and Princes. Heroic Midnight Sun dropped on gunship – it went to the Shammy healer.  Better for him..  but it still would have been an 100 sp upgrade for me, and they has asked me to go 3rd healer after the first wing – so technically I probably could have called at least a fair shot on it because  a) it was a pug,  b) they did want me to heal c)  it was a significant upgrade . I didn’t kick up a fuss bar – I’ll have it if he doesn’t want it.  Mp5 is a wasted stat,  but 100 sp!  – I am allowed to lust after it – but I would have been upset if I were the Shammy.

I might be getting a regular Gdkp 25 – and there is a pug 10’s group forming  every 5 min  ( ok not that often) but almost! – So there is no lack of opportunity.  Just need to work on making some more gold so I can bid the stupid amounts some of the things are going for in GDKP.

Thats the most exciting of the Wow stuff for the weekend – Hope yours was as fun

Dispels /Cleanses/decurses prevent damage and should be measured.

Measuring the performance of a Disc Priest was a little difficult on damage metres that didn’t take into consideration the preventative damage of their shields –  where damage was absorbed instead of healed.  So on those damage metres,  like recount the performance of a disc priest will always on the surface seem like they were lazy healing.  Disc priests were getting kicked from groups and fights because their raw heals didn’t measure up to most peoples understanding of how the class worked.

Untill you look at how many shields are cast & damage absorbed.

I was thinking that on that premise,  because a shield isn’t a heal.  It stops damage being done,  that a dispel, or a cleanse also stops damage being done, and perhaps could be counted as a performance measurement and given a figure as well.

By dispelling *this* magic affect 4k damage was prevented. Not all debuffs that are removable are damage dealing.  But It would be a start.

A magic affect, a poison, curse or a disease that can be cleansed/dispelled if had been let run its course would may have caused damage that needed to be healed or absorbed,  so then becomes measurable by our performance measurement standards  – but stopping the damage from happening all together only gets lumped in as a figure in a such and such did *this* many dispels.

I ‘outgeared’ an alt shadow priest ( a well geared alt.)  on a run once in one of my guilds and we were doing TOC  and he beat me on damage.  I got a whisper from the GM wanting to know why an Alt beat me, and that I needed to pick up my game.

“He didn’t even touch the adds and wasn’t dispelling.” I argued back in my defense.

It was all about damage. The whole picture of the raid wasn’t taken into consideration   It was disappointing to see my raw figures  of damage done as the only measurement of having done my job – dispels, killing adds none of that mattered. Even though it was clear that he had done none of that as evidenced by the logs – he ‘beat’ me on damage and I was the scrub.

If dispels/cleanses/decurses were measured with numbers of damage prevented then there is more incentive for more people to remove them.

In guild or pugs,   a damage meter is linked  and healing/damage done are flashed around as measurements of performance,  and we all nod at who came first. But that top dps/heals may have only gotten that high because they didn’t do something that someone else did.

Weekend round up.

Did first 4 bosses on ICC 25 man  – My better upgrades are going to come from 25  so I should do them more often.  Don’t need much loot in 10’s.

I  thought there was going to be a war of the casters when a healer  in the 25 run complained that all non hit weapons belonged to healers after they lost the Frozen Bonespike dagger roll on Marrowgar.   Like we don’t have hit caps for a reason.  Thems were fighting words.  She wore the mage, the winner of the weapon drop  down enough  that he handed it over.  I don’t agree with that.   I felt he was guilted into handing it over.   It was a pug run.  The only rules were MS over OS. He won the roll.  The healer then compensated him with gold.   Hence the loot hand over became a financial transaction  – and thus should have been open to purchase.  If the healer had truly earned or deserved the roll  then no money should have been exchanged. I felt she bought the weapon with guilt and gold.  Give the mage his due he didn’t ask or expect the gold.  But I don’t feel loot should be negotiated in a pug run in that manner.

We had some bad luck last night – Servers karking it.  1 hour was wasted sitting on the Pc doing nothing waiting.   Not enough on for ICC  10 so we went to TOGC and we just kept wiping .  Feel so sorry for the pug that watched us wipe on beasts 4 times and left.

It felt like there was something wrong .   I got to heal,  and  it was like something was broken,  a Pally who’s mana never runs out was complaining about mana, , and I had noticed by the end of boss 1 I was oom,   the only thing I can think of was that either spells were costing twice as much or our ” while casting” mana regen was broken.   A Rogue reported energy issues as well.  Maybe there was no replenishment,  the Pug Loc was supposed to be procing it,  but recount didn’t show it, but I shouldnt have been eating through mana so quick.

Did a random on my main and holy priest and my Mana was ok. – May have been a less stressful load though.

Got my SAN Priest to 16 and sat in the SAN vent for a bit listening in awe to all the girls!  Might try a few more levels questing,  then will try and hit the dungeons for a quicker leveling experience.

And Tauren Shammy is now 25 on Gundrak – Not been ganked once.  It’s supposed to be a pvp realm, and the only Alliance I’ve really seen was a couple riding through the barrens once, and one got on the boat with my from Bootybay to Rachet.   Not seeing many horde though either.  Seems like a quite realm.

Tossing a coin.

Via Minimal

I procrastinate a lot.

I stopped umming and ahhhing and made a decision.  Had a coin flipping in my head for so many things the last few weeks.  This one was easy to make -if only because there aren’t as many consequences.  And if there is – I no longer care.

I moved my main back to Dath’remar to raid.    I enjoyed my little holiday on Blackrock.  Definitely found a different notch of players – attitudes & skill.

Am now 10 man raiding on my main, in the guild I joined as a healer on my alt.  They are quite happy to accommodate my much better geared main as dps.  It may not seem much to those further ahead  – but we killed Fester,  and are making progress on Rot – the only thing that is failing at the moment really is attendance.  We had to pug the 10th spot and got a  ret pally because someone got saved.

I knew we were in trouble when I had to Mindvision the pug when he got in the instance to see where he ran off to, and then guide him where him where the teleporter was.

On our last attempts on Rot we misdirected to our Pally pug to try and get him killed. He was draining too many resources alive,  but we wanted his buffs. He wasn’t on vent even after several requests,  and even though he had a personally whispered clear instructions on what to do with the slimes – was failing.  On attempt 5 he asked ” So whats the deal with the slimes?”  He was ok on Fester because we told him to stack on boss and dps to his delight.  We didn’t cry when he got the hint and left – 9 maning Rot was still better then 9 men and a phail.  ( well actually 2 women, 7 men and a phail)

But Wednesday heralds the first real new raid week of the guild – so they have big hopes – and so do I.

Every time you wipe on Ignis, a Kitten dies.

Dath’remar scored Ignis as the raid weekly this week.

I managed to grab a group Tuesday night before shutdown on my Holy Priest   – I’ve found previously that no matter the realm  – no matter the over gearing  Ignis has been an Ulduar Pug breaker.

My Tuesday night 10 man pug managed to kill him with only 4 dead, and considering one of those dead was the other healer I think we did pretty good.

Come Wednesday and the start of a new raiding week,  the 10 man guild that have adopted me as their healer  were going to do the Ignis weekly.  Because there had been the weekly raid ID reset I was no longer locked   – so I got to heal them through all our wipes on Ignis.

This retro wiping is a little frustrating,   we were 2 healing it again,  we should have been over geared for it.  But no the Dps warrior was wearing a level 61 gun still.  Some people were missing every gem.  Some had inappropriately gemed,   missing enchants,  funny talent trees, no previous kill experience of Ignis ect, no DBM to warn when to stop dps so u don’t get spell locked.  The list went on.

Welcome to Casual raiding.

Yes you can be a casual raider,   but when your guild are all casual raiders,  there is no one to carry you through – you still need to work at it.  Given them their due they were there,  trying, wiping,  getting back off the floor and doing it all again.

I’ve still got the taste of Ulduar dirt in my mouth – my broken bones have littered the floors before, and it cuts me a little to be doing it all again.

After giving up wiping on Ignis,  we did kill Razor and XT  – with me coaching them through parts of it – I pointed out a few more things to the RL – it’s up to them if they attempt to fix it. I pointed out a few things to the shadow priest, told her/him it was completely up to them if they were interested in getting better –  trying to offer advice,  but no pressure.

I’m trying not to take over the raid – trying not to scare them by being an elitist  – even on the Boss mod issue,  I explained – that it will make their playing easier – and will help them be more aware of things like flame jets,  or blue fire, and will increase their success.

I don’t want to do an Audit – or suggested improvements on every player. But So much though is fixable  cheaply or at least made better – which increases dps / tanking/healing  improves performance,  things die easier – everyone is happy.   I would have been content if they even had, had the cheaper gems,  or the cheaper enchants – it shows care  still

So why do it – if it’s so very hard?  I can’t explain it completely –  I like feeling like a big fish in a small ocean – I know more than they do – I can use my knowledge  / healing abilities to help them,  and I just can’t do  4 days raiding again.  I’ve been out too long.  I like the flexibility of not having to come home early – to walk away from the Pc – read,  talk to a friend on the phone,  not come home,  go out, watch a dvd, go to sunday family dinner.
