Farewell to my Twink.

I’ve decided that my baby priest Wickedminx is going to level to 20 so she can learn the next level of engineering, and what better way to do it then bging her way out of her Twink bracket,

Do I really need 3 priests? No, I turned my 70 Priest that was going to be my healer – Shadow, and she basically is on rescue duty for any Alts that need an area cleared for questing ease, I’m not interested in leveling her past 70 – but I cannot bring myself to delete her. I don’t want to level yet another priest, but I have found my Twinks 19 priest Engineering skill somewhat useful – making bullets for an Alt, mechanical squirrels ( and fun – I LOVE using exploding Sheep in Bg’s ) so to try and get some more toys and useful stuff I need to level her to learn the next level of engineering. Shes not quite geared right for real twinking anyway, she lost her leg enchant when they nerfed some of the twink chants, and I really don’t like just playing WG – and with no mounts running up and down gets a little tedious at 19 so I’m not turning xp off.

She uses the spell oil, and has borrowed some of her older sisters Heirloom items ( must remember to send back!) so she is still twinkishly geared and kicks butt on the healing metres in the BG, but the overpowered fun is almost at an end – shes almost 20 now.

I stopped leveling her the second she hit 19 so she has had a whole level of being a pretend twink in a bg.

I hope that the change to xp to Bg’s have brought some people into Pvp that wouldn’t have normally tried it, there are still level 10’s and 11’s in there now, and as a healing twink, still a pain to keep alive, but there does seem to be more Bg’s available more of the time.

Did you know you can still put +6 stats on a Lovely black dress… they must have missed that in the nerf…

Oh that came out a bit odd…

But its so close I can feel it! – through a mailed enquiry ( I sent a rather polite message to a person listed in a top guild who used to have the Twinks Healing power enchants for gloves and Weapon) and I got a reply saying that he has 2 alts that can do them! – and that If I can’t catch him I can send him the mats/item and he will do it. So I have – I have sent him the Items and Mats and now wait till Wednesday when he said he would be back online.

Do I trust him? – Top Guild – Good reputation – Its in email form – and I sent him 150 Gold as payment for the 2 enchants. A little over the top, but given the market of gold today and the rareity of the enchants, and that he has to go out of his way to do them for me as I am not a guildy/friend. I will tip well for services that I cannot perform because – There needs to be incentive for them to do them for me…

and the Enchant Gloves – Healing Power + 30 Healing.

( Those are the two Items are in mail to him … ) For an extra 96 Healing ontop of my current 127 + Healing… and I will have 223.

I am also working on getting the Argent Dawn rep Enchant Enchant Bracer – Healing Power of +24

But all that extra healing comes at a cost of Stam Intell and Spirit, I was outhealed by another priest from my server in 1 BG last night. It was a decent fight and she got 28k ( yes in 19’s WSG ) and I got 17k – We did win in the end how could we not with that sort of healing.

How did she do it? – She had more intell and Stam then me, while her + healing was lower, she outlived/ didnt OOM like I did. Hence more presence on the field = more healing. I have all of one level of 19 to use in getting better gear, Like I have to go to the WSG Battlemaster to get the ring I want after I get my trinket.

I think I am going to have problems with my Stam and Intell when I eventually get all my plus healing gear. Wicked isn’t as well planned out as this other twink who had instance dropped items, but I will see how I go.

In Defence of the Non Twinks in BG’s

I have twinked my Priest Wickedminx.
with 115+ healing It’s Ok, and level 19 but I have to get 3 more enchants, the spellpower ones to gloves/bracer and weapon, that are hard to get, so I am working on them

But so far I am performing well in the Bg’s on my Twink – Top or 2nd top healer. Some of the WSG’s I was the only healer,
My Stamina is still a little low – I have no ‘while casting’ Mana regen, which is a painful on my 1225 mana pool.

Doing some BG’s this weekend I came dangerously close to being one of those people that make a bg experience bad / worse …. its hard to bite the tounge when
when level 10’s are in there, with 200 health in whites and greys,
when level 15’s Warrior or a level 13 Rogue with 300 health want to be flag carriers,and blame the Bg for Sucking when they die because they don’t have support,
That Same level 15 at the start of every BG would tell everyone, he was going for the flag and to cover him.

Is there a polite way of saying ” Your not worth the mana it would take to try and heal you?”.

The power of being a healer who can heal and sheild, is you decide who has a better chance of surviving. Having to sheild that level 10 thats going to die anyway can be a waste of resources that can go to someone who is actually doing damage/carrying a flag.

BUT

The thing is, they have as much right to be in that Bg as I do. Its my choice that I’ve decided to optimise my character and you have to start somewhere and it takes serious gold to twink somtimes. – but ideally you want as fewer of the non twinks as possible in a bg to increase the odds of winning

While I’m sure twinks or BG Veterns would like to have Bg’s where their teammates are equally geared and experienced – thats not going to happen. There will always be the level 10/20/40/50/ect in a Bg who just wants a look, or doesn’t know that you don’t have to run to your body on the battlefield to rez, or doesn’t know what LM is, or MT is, or falls off the rock.

I started my Shadow Priest in Bg’s at 69 without a scrap of resilience gear. She now has 495 I took my Twink to be in at 16, my 70 mage has no resilence gear and bad Pve Gear. I healed alot more when I 1st started Bging as a shadow Priest, ideally trying to be the most useful. My 16 ( now 19 twink) healed, and the several Bgs she was in was rarely outhealed. My Mage puts down a table everytime and buffs arcane brilliance.

My point is that while I was/am undergeared for that particular BG I tried to be as useful as possible. ( less people complain when you are top of charts in healing, or when you put a table down.. even if they do laugh at you and say ” You must die often” )

If you know your undergeared/underleveled….. you will cop some flack. Be prepared to take it on the chin, and prove them wrong. You can still be a contributing member of the team, and by contributing I don’t mean rushing to get the flag/take on a node all by yourself. Be realistic – you are Best and should often be used as a supporting team member, however its not measurable, you will have the chance at glory – and can sucessfully carry the flag at level 13 home, ( I’ve seen it – Yes.. it was with me sheilding, fearing attackers and healing the carrier.. but they did it!) but be prepared to be supportive rather then an glory hound.

But seriously to those level 10’s who go into BG’s – When your deaths outnumber your damage output you know there is something wrong. When your spells are resisted by level 19’s, your dots are for 4 damage a tick, and if an member of the oposing faction even looks your way and you die.

To Twink my Baby Priest or not..

Wickedminx is now 16 – and is the only Wickedminx on the Armory.. SHHHHHHH don’t tell anyone else or I will find next week there will be 100! She is a unique snowflake.

I never was much for twinking. Whats the point of twinking a level 19 – or even Bging at that level? you earn the least honor, and have not alot to spend it on,

But as I was doing errands for my questing in stormwind.. I thought why not have a go at healing in a bg for practice. ( I am serious about this learning to heal properly on a priest – too used to melting faces. ) Even though I was below the desired level for that bracket, I figured as a healer I would be welcome, and I was slightly twinked out.. +58 healing FTW!

So I did some WSG’s and was instantly hooked! – I was outhealing 19’s! and getting top alliance healer in all bg’s.

It certainly was a change in mentality, as a healer in a BG I had to stop myself from being out the gate first, or chasing the enemies flag carrier as I do as dps. I often found myself wandering aimlessly looking for someone to heal.

“Follow the little blue dots…. follow the little blue dots… Follow follow, heal and follow.. follow the little blue dots”

It was also frustrating standing there healing and waiting for the people I was healing to move on, out of the middle, and try and accomplish something like picking up the flag.
When I did manage to attach myself to our flag carrier and there was no horde offence yet, instead of finding a good defensive spot they would run back back half way down the field to get into the action, only to die when they tried to run back up the tunnel a 2nd time with the flag on their back.
I can’t heal though stupidity…

I miss my mount. I hate having to run everywhere, and It was annoying seeing level 11’s in there with less then 300 health. and given that WSG is the only 10-19 bracket BG around I think I would go insane just doing WSG forever on that toon.

But despite all that , I liked it! Loved it. I want to be the best healer in the 19 BG bracket ever.. Um not really.. but I would certainly like to be decent.

I am going to get her to 19 and keep her there, give her some more appropriate clothing for her level, spend a silly fortune on enchants and best gear available.

…..and level up another baby priest who will inherit Wickedminx’s clothes as wickedminx is still wearing her Tuxedo Pants and her Lovely Black dress.
